Teachers
Giselle Chagnon, M. Ed. Director, Lead Teacher
Giselle has enjoyed a long career in education. From 1990 to 2004 she taught 1st through 4th grades, both here in New Hampshire and in Washington state. In this time, she developed a strength in math development in the elementary grades. Next she became the Math Specialist for Rye Elementary School, encouraging math skills and confidence for another 11 years. Since leaving public education in 2016 she has offered programs for homeschoolers, helping ages 5 - 10 to develop new friendships, apply math in real life and appreciate the natural world. Whether it’s introducing a math concept, studying autumn leaves, or guiding a tide pooling adventure, Giselle still loves her time with the children.
*A second teacher will be joining us at Creek Farm for the 2025-26 academic year. We’ll be welcoming a warm, attentive, experienced educator with a background in Kindergarten and early literacy who also enjoys extensive time outdoors.
Carol Lake, Artist in Residence
Carol is a highly accomplished artist, with work in private collections across the country and commissioned sculptures in several New Hampshire towns. She’s also an avid naturalist and tree steward; on Creek Farm trail walks with the children, she’s a fountain of fascinating facts about tree, plant and bird species. Carol will be joining us for some of our autumn sessions. With her impressive combination of skills, she’ll be a great asset to both the creative and the scientific aspects of the program.
